This is a fantastic horror story and your writing is on point. Not a word too much, incredibly terrifying, I loved how the past and present mirrored each other, just a stellar concept beautifully executed. I also really enjoyed how you slowed down the pace with the pixel images to create atmosphere. It reminded me of Knifepoint Horror stories in how much this got under my skin.

Hey, thanks a lot for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, it's my first time trying to narrate a short conventional story and it's great to know that it did its job with you :D

If that was the first time than please keep going :D This was incredibly sure-footed and on point.

Not at the moment, sorry! I'll try to update the game in the near future, so that you'll be able to shoot with SPACEBAR

This was awesome. I loved the story telling of playing in the location as a child and then playing in the same location as an adult. Every time the still pictures would show up, I would be super tense. Even when it said no one was there. The environment and atmosphere was amazing. Good job.

I am curious, could the gun be used for anything while you were an adult? I was in such a hypnotic state b-lining to the attic to figure out what happened that I forgot to fire the gun at anything.

Hey, thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked it :D

As for the last question,

!

!

!

Gun is useless as an adult, but I thought it would make the game more tense if the player had the opportunity to think about using it on a potential malevolent entity...

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS COOL

I love this game and I would like to volunteer to translate them into Turkish so that my Turkish friends can play them. How can I contact you?

Hello caki, thanks for liking Fortress!

You can find a .lang file if you download the game's .zip, although I don't think things will work because of font limitations

Good short game.

i had goosebumps. THE ATTIC LOOKING THING WITH KNIFE that i was not expecting, really startled me.

Wow that's a great game ! I love the vibe you get when you go from childhood to adulthood.
It's a fun game but it also has a slightly scary vibe to it. I love it

(+1)

Amazing how it feels both childhood playful vibes with nostalgia and tense horror story. Loved it <3

Enjoyed this a lot; for something so short it feels very complete. In a way it reminds me King's writings, perhaps it's the children coming of age during horrible events only to have a reprise in adulthood. Lovely dialogue and art!

Shared at the time played!

Made a video on Fortress (The jumpscare at the end of the game got me real bad)

Gosh darn. You got me! :D
I really liked this, great work!

Just a heads up for people who don't know, you can full screen the game using Alt+Enter. For me it initially launched in a very small window, so that option was important. Hard to really get immersed in a horror game when it's in a tiny window.

Anyway, cool game! I liked it. The "Someone's Coming" mechanic was well done.
